Considerations
High price point at $0.12 per gram of protein
Low protein density compared to most other brands, with only 45% to 63% of calories coming from protein.
Our Verdict
Flavcity’s protein powder stands out for its use of high-quality, organic ingredients and the inclusion of functional mushrooms and collagen. These offer potential benefits for cognitive function and skin health, making it a good choice if you’re seeking a more comprehensive protein powder.
However, with only 45% to 63% of its calories coming from protein (depending on the flavor), Flavcity’s product has a lower protein density than most competitors. Additionally, at $0.12 per gram of protein, it’s one of the more expensive whey proteins on the market.
Flavcity’s protein powder is a good choice if you prioritize clean, organic ingredients and value the potential benefits of added mushrooms and collagen. The blend of whey and pea proteins also provides a complete amino acid profile, which is key for muscle growth and recovery.

What Makes Flavcity Different?
Flavcity focuses on clean, organic ingredients. The company uses grass-fed whey protein, organic pea protein, and natural sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit extract, avoiding artificial flavors and sweeteners.
Another unique aspect of Flavcity’s protein powder is the inclusion of functional mushrooms, specifically Reishi and Chaga, as well as collagen. These ingredients offer potential benefits beyond just muscle growth and recovery, such as improved cognitive function and skin health.
Flavcity’s commitment to transparency and quality is evident in their third-party testing practices. While not all brands invest in independent testing, Flavcity ensures their products meet high standards for purity and safety.

Vanilla is up first!
Then we are moving on to chocolate!
Taste Test (7.25)
I tried both the vanilla and chocolate flavors of Flavcity’s protein powder.
Let’s start with the vanilla flavor, which I preferred. Unlike some other proteins that taste artificial or chemically, you could tell this was made with natural, high-quality ingredients. It was smooth, and not too sweet.
The chocolate flavor had a darker, more intense taste that is more of an acquired taste. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t nearly as smooth as the vanilla flavor.
One thing I liked about both flavors was there was no aftertaste, which is common with protein powders. The natural sweeteners, stevia and monk fruit extract, helped with this, providing the sweetness without the unpleasant aftertaste.
Overall, I scored the vanilla flavor a solid 8 and the chocolate flavor earned a respectable 6.5 out of 10.
Obviously taste is subjective, so while I preferred the vanilla, know that your mileage may vary.

Nutritional Value (9)
Protein content: Flavcity protein packs a solid 25 grams of protein per serving, which is on par with top brands like Optimum Nutrition and Dymatize.
Protein density: Only 45% to 63% of Flavcity’s total calories come from protein, depending on the flavor, making it one of the least dense proteins I’ve tried. It is pitched as a “smoothie” though which makes sense. If you’re looking to minimize your calories and maximize your protein, and care less about flavor, you’re better off going with an Isopure or SEEQ, which are 91% and 88% dense respectively.
Ingredients: Flavcity uses high-quality, organic ingredients. The protein blend includes grass-fed whey and organic pea protein, which provides a complete amino acid profile to support muscle growth and recovery.
Carbs and fat: The vanilla flavor has 8 grams of carbs and 4 grams of fat per serving, and chocolate has 19 grams of carbs and 4.5 grams of fat per serving, which is a LOT of carbs! If you’re looking to minimize your carbs, there are better options out there, Isopure Zero/Low Carb, Body Fortress, and Dymatize to name a few, but all three of those contain sucralose, so you’d be giving up the all natural ingredient profile.
Sodium content: Vanilla has 190mg of sodium per serving and chocolate has 230mg, which does not impact the total calories as salt is calorie-free. That said, if you’re looking for a lower sodium option, I would recommend Ascent Whey Protein Powder, which only has 115mg of sodium per serving and is personally one of my favorite whey proteins on the market.

Cost (5)
Per serving: Flavcity costs around $3.00 per serving, which is high. Naked’s Whey Protein costs around $1.25 per serving, while Ghost Whey Protein comes in at $1.73 per serving.
Per gram of protein: At $0.12 per gram of protein, Flavcity is one of the most expensive proteins I’ve tried. You can find whey proteins for a quarter of the price or less. Optimum Nutrition’s Gold Standard Whey is around $0.03 per gram, and Dymatize ISO100 is around $0.02 per gram.

Third Party Testing (10) & Brand Reputation (6.5)
Flavcity claims to third-party test, which is a crucial aspect of ensuring product quality and safety. However, the specific details of their testing process, such as the name of the third-party lab or the frequency of testing are unclear at the time of this writing.
Flavcity has built a significant following, with over 12 million followers across their digital platforms. This suggests that they have established trust and credibility with a large audience.
However, there is some controversy surrounding the Flavcity founder, Bobby Parrish, which is part of the reason we only gave it a 6.5.
Flavcity VS The Market

As you can see, Flavcity is one of the more caloric and expensive whey proteins on the market.
If you want fewer calories and you’re ok with artificial sweeteners, there are much cheaper whey protein options out there.
Here’s how it compares in terms of protein density:

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard

Dymatize ISO-100

MyProtein Impact Whey Isolate

Transparent Labs 100% Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate
86%
Naked Whey Protein Powder
67%
Flavcity Whey Protein
45% to 63%
As you can see, Flavcity is one of the least dense proteins on the market. With some flavors, like chocolate, fewer than half your calories are coming from protein.
But that’s not necessarily a bad thing—it just depends what you’re looking for.
Are you looking to gain weight and/or for a milk-based protein powder that can double as a meal replacement throughout the day?
Or are you looking for a lean water-based protein powder to quickly chug after a workout?
Flavcity Protein IS a Good Option if:
You’re willing to pay a premium
You’re looking for natural ingredients
You’re interested in functional mushrooms (cordyceps, reishi) for brain/focus benefits
You’re looking for a milk-based smoothie, not just a standard protein shake, that is high in calories and can double as a meal replacement
Chocolate vs Vanilla
Flavcity is NOT a Good Option if:
You’re on a tight budget
You’re looking to minimize your calories
You’re looking for a lean protein powder to drink with water
Closing Thoughts:
Overall, we had a blast testing Flavcity’s whey protein.
We only tried 2 of the 8 flavors, but we may update this review later with additional flavors—please let us know if you have any requests!
Flavcity is one of the most unique proteins we’ve tried. It’s a milk-based powder that’s meant to be a smoothie replacement, unlike most proteins that are just meant to be mixed with water.
It has a lot of carbs and a lot of calories, but I do appreciate their focus on all natural ingredients.
