Instructions

Prep Instructions

  • Drain and rinse the chickpeas from the can. Set aside.
  • Grate the Parmesan cheese, just enough to fill one-third of a cup. You can also shred it.
  • Cut the parsley into small pieces.

Cooking Instructions

  • Take a large bowl and add all of the ingredients, except the tahini sauce. Mash the ingredients with a fork unless you have a masher.
  • Mix well. If your mixture is rough, add a tablespoon of water to further blend the ingredients.
  • Separate three parts from the mixture. Divide each part into two.
  • Now make patties.
  • Heat the air fryer up to 350 degrees.
  • Fry the patties for fifteen minutes. Make sure not to fry one side for too long. Switch half-way. You will know when they’re ready; they’ll turn golden brown.
  • Place on a plate with a paper towel to reduce excess oil.
  • Serve drizzled with tahini sauce.

Why go for junk when you can make this crispy and delicious recipe? It’s a favorite among the kids—just ask anybody who makes them regularly. The rest of the chickpea fritter recipe is green, gluten-free, and healthy.

Buckwheat flour is an organic alternative to white flour. It has more minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. The name suggests that it comes from wheat, but that is not so. It is a pseudocereal that has no relation to wheat. This flour, used in our chickpea fritters recipe, is a favorite among bakers for its nutritious content. Although there isn’t much scientific research on the benefits of buckwheat, it is proven to be high in protein, and reduces blood sugar level and risk of celiac disease.

The Parmesan cheese (whether vegan or non-vegan) does not only enhance the flavor but also saves your chickpea recipe from falling flat. It does not overpower the rest of the ingredients and leaves a subtle taste of its own. So the Parmesan, combined with the nutritional benefits of buckwheat and chickpea, gives you the optimum recipe: chickpea fritters, with the ultimate benefits.

Chickpea nutrition facts will shock you. Selenium is a mineral found in very few fruits and vegetables. But chickpeas, on the other hand, are brimming with selenium. This hard-to-come-by mineral prevents tumors and supports your liver. When there are cancerous or toxic substances in your body, it is your liver that detoxifies them. And selenium boosts this process. Another way that chickpeas prevent cancer is by supplying vitamin C. Vitamin C terminates free radicals that are the main source of cancer.

Protein is your body’s most important compound. It does everything. From building muscles to slowing aging, protein is the reason your organs work properly. This is why chickpea snacks are recommended by nutritionists for weight loss and strength. So while you’re trying that veggie burger recipe, add chickpea fritters as a snack to multiply the benefits. Other nutrients in chickpea snacks or recipes, such as calcium, folate, and iron, support pregnancy. Thus, it’s important for you and your little tots.

Chickpeas are heart-friendly too, among other things. But consuming too much of them may cause complications. Excessive intake of fiber, which is found abundantly in chickpeas, can cause stomach cramps, but these subside within a few hours. Don’t consume too many chickpea recipes in a week—you’ll get tired of them too quickly and suffer from some really bad stomach aches.

Conclusion

Chickpea fritters are easy to make, delicious to ingest, and immensely beneficial for your body. After all, any healthy recipe with chickpeas in it is bound to be nutritious.
